Description

We started with the demolition of the interior space to reconfigure this former Circuit City retail store into a premier learning facility with offices, training rooms, and an auxiliary working mechanical lab for aviation equipment maintenance instruction. Cost saving measures such as utilizing the existing mechanical system and former retail light fixtures helped maintain budget controls.

We also installed an 18 ft. tall x 30 ft. long hangar door which required special structural consideration in order to provide aircraft access. The back lot area, which is an extension of the training facility, required placement of I-Hooks into the asphalt to tie down aircraft and to avoid any movement during training exercises. A 12 ft. fence was also installed to maintain safety and security considerations. Additional build-out included specialized lab workrooms for paint, welding and composite materials as well as two lunch rooms, several conference rooms and a library. The exterior of the building was also painted to match AIM’s blue corporate color palate.
