Through a select bid process, R.W. Murray Co. was selected to complete the construction of Princeton Woods Self Storage due to our experience and history in the Self Storage arena. We have successfully worked with the architect for this project, Butz-Wilbern, LTD, on several occasions and were therefore recommended to our client by the design team. Princeton Woods is a 104,988 SF four-story facility built with concrete, masonry brick/veneer, metal panels, EIFS and glass. The biggest project challenge our teams faced was the minimal lot size, which measured at 1.66 acres. Sheeting and shoring was required on three sides of the building due to the small site and the location of a cellar on the first level. Staging and storing of materials on site required an extensive amount of coordination to ensure that each subcontractor met their deadline and had their materials built before the next subcontractor needed to move their materials in. The project encountered a series of weather delays, especially during the site and foundation phases but nevertheless, the finished product was delivered just shortly after the original deadline. Now at completion, this 950-unit facility is managed by Storage Zone Self Storage.
