PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – November 2, 2011 – R.W. Murray Co., a privately-held general contracting firm located in Manassas, Virginia, is pleased to announce the completion of the newly redesigned and rebuilt community landmark, the Prince William Ice Center in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Originally built in 1996, the facility housed the only year-round ice skating rinks in Prince William County. Prince William Ice Center collapsed on February 6, 2010 due to the weight of the heavy snow the area experienced during that month. The collapse was devastating to the community and the owners are excited have been able to rebuild a new full-service facility and bring the area’s skating community back ‘home’.

The new and improved 82,000 square foot facility features NHL and Olympic rinks, a full-service pro shop, a café featuring new menu items, private party rooms and free WiFi in public spaces. The new rinks also use the latest in energy efficient technologies including waste heat reclamation and new electric Olympia ice resurfacers. The owners are extremely excited to offer several new programs for all ages, including Skating for Life as well as returning programs in hockey, figure skating and speed skating.

“We were extremely honored and excited to be a part of the team that rebuilt this important community landmark”, said Steve Daves, president of R. W. Murray Co. “The rebuilding of the ice rink epitomizes the sense of community in not only Prince William County, but the entire region.

The ice rink is located at 5180 Dale Boulevard, Woodbridge, VA. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the rink on November 17, 2011.
