R. W. Murray Co. Receives ABC Excellence in Construction Award

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. - On September 14, 2006, R. W. Murray Co. was recognized by the Metropolitan Washington and Virginia Chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for an Excellence in Construction Award. The honor was bestowed upon the company for the Institutional (under $3 million) category for their work on Winwood Children’s Center in South Riding, Va.

“This award shows our commitment to construction excellence,” said Jordan Lewis, director at R. W. Murray Co. and project manager for the award-winning center.

R. W. Murray Co. performed construction contracting services for the 9,782-SF child care and educational facility. This is Winwood’s (www.winwood.com) sixth center in the metropolitan area. This is a state-of-the art child care center, which utilizes webcam technology throughout the facility to let parents see their children during the day. Additional security measures at entrances also ensure the safety of the children throughout the day. The reception area that leads to classrooms is fun and child-friendly, while an abundance of windows and numerous child-friendly finishes are in every room.
