LAND CONSERVATION AWARDS
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – January 28, 2009—R.W. Murray Co., a privately held commercial general contracting firm, announced today their recent Land Conservation Award for the “Best Large Commercial Project,” presented by the County of Fairfax, Virginia. This award recognizes the firm for soil conservation initiatives at Pender Village Center, a 138,921SF retail project developed by Atlantic Realty Companies.
R.W. Murray Co.’s superintendent, Dennis Settle was also recognized as an “Outstanding Site Superintendent” for his soil conservation and erosion control efforts at the Pender Village Center project, a 10-acre site located in Fairfax, Virginia . The annual awards program--sponsored by The Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, in cooperation with the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District and the Fairfax Tree Commission-- identifies and rewards leaders in the construction industry that have proved to be of stellar caliber in the area of reducing nonpoint source pollution through adequately installed and maintained erosion and sediment control practices at active construction sites.
