Can You Survive an In-Place Office Renovation?

As a commercial general contractor, we perform in-place office renovations for clients all the time; it’s one of our areas of expertise. But there’s one in-place renovation we’ve never done before …    our own.
Can You Survive an In-Place Office Renovation?

We recently renewed the lease at our location on Balls Ford Road which included the negotiation of a tenant improvement allowance. We hired local architecture firm OTJ Architects to help us redesign our space by adding several modern upgrades. The fresh design included new carpet and vibrant paint throughout the entire office, as well as the redesign of our employee lounge/kitchen area, lobby and various other open spaces.

What did we learn from completing our own in-place office renovation? A lot. We all learned how our clients feel as the saws are buzzing, dust everywhere, and paint fumes waft throughout the entire office; the inconvenience of restrooms and entrances being closed and having to park on the other side of the building. All minor inconveniences, but they were worth it! We survived and are thrilled with the end result!

Thanks to our Special Projects team who lead the renovation, the end result of the transformation has given us bright walls, texture and new furniture as well as an open concept kitchen/lounge area fully equipped with two refrigerators (always stocked with soda and water), a high-tech coffee machine, new margarita machine and seating for everyone! We invite you to stop by to see our new space at anytime; we may even fire up the margarita machine for you.
